Rosh Hashanah Meat Tzimmes
A Recipe from Zabar's
by Andrea Watman
The word “tzimmes” means it’s a big deal – and making tzimmes is somewhat of a big deal. It takes a lot of time to cook and prepare, but I think it is really worth the effort.
You can make this dish without the meat but it just does not taste the same. The flaken adds a richness and depth of flavor that just can not be duplicated.
So….. this is the perfect dish to prepare on an Autumn Sunday. The smell of it cooking is almost as good as eating it.
