Ok, I’m a new mom and a consultant at Zabar’s and have been missing my favorite Zabar’s delights while staying home and caring for my newborn. This being said, I’m not getting out as much as I would like to to get my every day items, let alone prepare a meal for others. Sure I’ve got access to my local shops, but have been longing for the type and quality of food that I can only get at Zabar’s. When my loving husband invited over his family for brunch I couldn’t even imagine how we would swing something lovely enough for their company…. Zabar’s to the rescue!
I hoped online and placed my order at Zabars.com for Saturday delivery and ended up with not just a brunch for my in-laws but also a really nice stash of bagels which I continue to enjoy as I type this. (I sliced and froze my remaining bagels, in the bags they arrived in. This way I can just pull ½ a bagel out of the freezer to eat whenever the mood strikes. They really are the best tasting bagel I’ve ever had out of the freezer.)

2 dozen bagels: 1 poppy, 1 sesame, 1 plain, 1 pumpernickel
These are Zabar’s Toasting Bagels which means they’re baked to be amazingly fresh after being shipped anywhere. When toasted it’s really like they just came out of the oven. Directions were included with the bagels stating essentially: toast and enjoy upon arrival or slice, free and toast straight from the freezer, no microwaving or defrosting. Easy!

I have to mention here that I think Zabar's Cream Cheese is out of this world. Really, I've never tasted another cream cheese like it. And up until this order, my husband had never tasted Gefilte Fish! How that's possible I have no idea, but he's truly in love with Zabar's Gefilte Fish.
Really, what more could one want for a brunch (except for Zabar’s coffee which I luckily already had).
I LOVE the reusable bag that the fish and cream cheese arrived in. I’m one of those who reuse bags and show up at the market with my own cloth bags for my purchases. This cooler bag is a keeper! Now I have the perfect way to keep my cool purchases cool on the trip home – even without an ice pack it will keep cheese fresh and cream cool for the trip home.
Everything arrived fresh and delicious – oh how I missed Zabar’s white fish salad!
And now I know what to send my relatives in Maine…
